Research and tests of vehicles with regard to the combustion of materials

The combustion characteristics and flammability of the materials used in vehicle structure play an important role in ensuring users’ safety. The laboratory facilities of the Testing Center allow for a wide array of tests in this area.

Testing of materials and structural elements of the vehicle in relation to the characteristics of combustion, melting and/or gasoline- or oil-repellent properties.

Determined indicators:

  • flammability

  • burning rate in the horizontal and vertical planes

  • fusibility

  • petrol and oil resistance

  • resistance of electrical wiring to the spread of flame
