The infrastructure of the Testing Center is constantly being upgraded and is focused on performing certification tests for compliance with the current requirements of the approved UN Regulations and other national and international standards, as well as the new UN Regulations applicable to automated driving systems (ADS) of levels 3-5 of autonomy and amendments to existing UN Regulations causing subsequent amendments to the Technical Regulations of the Customs Union.
On the main territory of the “NAMI” Testing Center there is a specialized "City" test site with a total area of 117,000 m2.
The road infrastructure of the “City” site is made in accordance with the requirements of national standards. The variety of elements of the landfill arrangement makes it possible to simulate the maximum number of scenarios for urban traffic conditions. The automated traffic control system (ATCS) allows us to carry out scenarios involving traffic lights. Artificial lighting provides testing in different lighting modes. To record the progress of the tests, a video surveillance and data storage system is provided, which allows recording tests around the clock.
carrying out the basic scenarios, enveloping most of the standard road situations
carrying out non-standard scenarios using virtual modelling
testing new versions of vehicle automation algorithms
testing new solutions in the area of V2X
In order to work out the interaction of connected vehicles (vehicle to vehicle) and the interaction with road infrastructure objects (vehicle to infrastructure), a V2X service platform is provided at the specialized "City" test site. To solve the set tasks, elements of the RSU (Road side unit) road infrastructure of the ETSI ITS-G5, 802.11p (DSRC), C-V2X standards were installed on the test site. The V2X service platform allows you to test, validate and verify the radio frequency parameters of devices, data transfer protocols, provide functional testing of V2X services in accordance with international standards, and conduct research activities in the field of national standards development.
Testing Center experts take part in the sessions of the World Forum for Harmonization of Vehicle Regulations (World Forum WP.29) of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), including in such working groups as: the official GRVA working groupcovering issues related to automated / autonomous and connected vehicles, the VMAD informal working group, whose interests lay in the field of the methods development for validation and testing of vehicles equipped with ADS, as well as the FRAV informal working group, focused on the development of safety requirements for ADS.
Competences of the Testing Center are:
Development of requirements for the functional and operational safety of automated driving systems (ADS) in relation to properties that cannot be assessed for compliance with the mandatory requirements established by the technical regulation of the Customs Union "On the safety of wheeled vehicles" (TR CU 018/2011) and United Nations Regulations
Validation and verification of test methods developed on the basis of the formulated safety requirements for ADS
Organization and conducting of research, development tests and confirmation of the declared characteristics of ADS as part of vehicles
